not much in a chattin mood today ... so i thought i'd just share a card i made last week. and this definately looks better in person. we've had gloomy, dark days here lately ... hard to take decent photos of my projects.
i'm very grateful and appreciative for the hero arts stamps that show up on my doorstep from time to time. they're all gorgeous and i always look forward to playing with them. on this card, i used 3 new stamps. the scattered flowers design block, hello tree, and hello circles. i'm not one for the monocramatic look ... so i'm actually surprised i went with all blue and white. i stamped the design block onto a piece of white cardstock ... and then just cut it into 3 pieces. i stamped the woodgrain circle stamp with blue ink, onto blue pattern paper. kind of a subtle look. the tree was a last minute decision. the circle was already on there ... so i just took a chance and stamped it right onto the card. amazingly, it turned out pretty straight. i know, it's a clear stamp and you can see where it's stamping. but you'd be amazed at how i can mess things like that up. lol!
and i noticed i had some increased blog traffic coming though here the last day or two. and yes, i can see where it comes from. lol! so i thought i would clear up any confusion right here. those that know me, know that this is all said in a very lighthearted way ... totally not meant to be taken too serious. btw ... these following comments are in answer to some wondering/curious/questioning talks i found on one partictular site. so all of my regular lurkers ... you're all good!
no, i'm not crazy ... for scrapbooking or for any other reason. yes, i have a lot of product after doing this for 13 years ... and i'm lucky enough that some of it just magically comes to me. i scrap standing up ... which is why i have no cutouts in my workarea to put my feet. yes, this is a part time job in some ways (some weeks, it's more like full-time) ... in addition to my full-time job running a daycare in my home. and yes, i use "lol" a lot ... i think i use it to make sure that everyone knows i'm being slightly funny/sarcastic and not too serious about whatever i'm talking about. it's all good though. however you came to my blog ... i'm glad you're here and hope you can find something entertaining or cute or inspiring to make you want to come back ;)
well said! And actually, those photos of your creative space brought me to your blog in the first place, and I am happy to be here! I apreciate what you do to make your blog a creative, happy place. So thank you for the inspiration!

Ok, haven't posted for a while but wanted to say Hi from KY and still loving all your ideas. You must get by on very little sleep to fit everything in -- or I really suspect that you are just really organized (which I definitely am not). Have a great day and take pride in how much joy you give by sharing your creations!

You must have visited the nest :). I'm a new reader. Just started blogging myself and found your page by looking at the scrap spaces on making memories. I fell in love with your scrap room (ok, I'm completely jealous of your craft room) and then with your blog.

I'm a new reader from the Nest yesterday- I'm sure the comments about the "crazy scrapbook lady" were made in awe, not criticism, and I just had to come see what all the talk was about! Beautiful site, I added you to my Google Reader. You have some fans over on the Nest!

Ok, am I the only person who doesn't know what the Nest is?
I don't think you are crazy, I think you are very good at what you do. I LOVE your blog, yours is the one I am most excited about reading, and seeing. I love your projects, and save them to "lift" at a later time. Thanks for taking time out your day to blog about the crafts we all love.
BTW - Great Card. Love the stamps.

I found your site from a link on the nest's craft page... and have to say that I am in complete awe of your workspace! And your organization just blows me away! I spent quite awhile navigating your blog and truly enjoy it. Hope you don't mind if I become a regular visitor!

Ah Laura you never cease to inspire! Love how you used the stamps. Think I need to add them to my "wish list"!
I wouldn't worry about what people say--you shouldn't have to justify yourself to anyone. You just do what makes YOU happy! {{HUGS}}

Laura,
I don't have a clue as to what is going on & what the 'Nest' is but if someone is talking about you, they are crazy. I have been following your blog for about a year & you are so talented. I am amazed at how much you get scrapped. It takes me forever to get a page done. Your work seems effortless. It's beautiful. Don't listen to other people. You're great:)

OK, I am way too curious a person...WHAT, pray tell, is the NEST??? lol. This is my second visit to your blog today, had to come view the eye candy one more time. The post got me curious (there's that word again) and I began reading the comments. The "nest" just keeps popping up...is it a secret club I know nothing about? lol. I've googled and googled but nothing. Can you help a curious soul?

Hi Laura...I have no idea either what happened but you are the nicest person that I have never met! LOL. Seriously though, I adore your blog, your creations, and our friendship! And if you stopped the LOL's...I would worry.
And this card is very cute and creative. TFS!!

Such a lovely card Laura. And yeah no need to justify yourself hun. Just be you and be happy that you are you. That is all anybody should ever ask for in a person. I think your stuff is wonderful and will continue to read your blog because of that. HUGS!

Sigh. Some people are just born total cows Laura, and whatever they said, they are just jealous of your awesome talent. The fact that you do this and still deal with all you deal with puts you right at the top of my people I admire list!! Just ignore the catty cathy's. They will crawl back under their rock eventually! :o)
