you all know i've been working on moving my studio downstairs, right? i started 2 weeks ago, and have been making a lot of progress. also doing a lot of cleaning and purging. but today you could really see it all coming together. sort of. i could see it. and it's everything that i knew it could be. and the family? they weren't quite getting my ideas. but now that they're seeing it all happen, they're seeing my vision a little clearer now. here are some quick photos i took today of some of the behind the scenes stuff. just noticed this. you can see the time pass in a few of these photos, since they show the clocks. lol! 2:30 in the new scraproom, 5:30 in the playroom, 6:50 in the playroom. kind of funny. lol!
this has been a ripple effect. to move one thing, i have to move another thing. and to move that thing, i have to move yet another thing. there's furniture that we've had for years and years that is being passed on to other people. and we're reworking other furniture to new areas of the house. re-purposing everything in new ways. it's fun to see the same old stuff, but in new ways. i'm loving it.
and a big thanks to joe and my brother, scott. they did the heavy lifting tonight. i build a desk today and did all the organizing and moving of the little things. but they did the big, heavy furniture. we moved a big screen tv upstairs. moved a large red cabinet downstairs. moved 4 large oak bookshelves to the garage. moved a corner armoire tv cabinet downstairs, along with tv and vcr/dvd player. we've been going all day long. for the record, joe also cleaned the entire house. vacumming, moping, cleaning bathrooms. he does it all. i also snuck in some laundry, finished a scrap assignment, and ran some errands. and the girls? well, they went to school and then vegged in front of the tv while we worked. lol! it was fine though, they've had such a busy week that they havn't even had time to watch tv since sunday. and they did pitch in some here and there. it's looking good. more to come as we tidy everything up :)
I don't know where you get your energy from! A move like that is usually only when you move house! Good luck with it.

Can't wait to see it! Organizing is one of my passions too...love it. Right now my scrap space is in the dining room which we didn't really need since we have a table to eat at in the kitchen. I have most of my stuff in an armoire and some others in a dresser. Works for now!

Your original space was so awesome and now can't wait to see your new space. I had showed my husband your original pictures with lots of hint, hint so now he will get to see more ideas. Of course my space is way smaller but still fun to learn from each other. Love the color of your walls, totally my favorite! Enjoy going through stuff, will feel like Christmas probably running across some things forgotten!

what motivated you to move the scraproom downstairs? and what room are you using for the new scrapspace? right now my scraproom is in my upstairs loft and I find that I bring armfuls of stuff downstairs to work on the kitchen table because I want to be around the family, then I haul it all back up and put it away after a couple days because the clutter annoys my hubby. not the most efficient way to work when I have a beautifully organzed scrapspace upstairs.
