Hey everyone! And happy Monday! Hopefully, you all had a great weekend. Mine was super productive, which always feels good. I didn't do a single crafty thing, which is totally fine with me. Sometimes, I just need to focus on stuff around the house, so that I can start the week knowing I'm totally on track of things. Anyways. I've got a little news to share with you all today.
I have recently joined the Sunny Studio Stamps team, as their new Social Media Coordinator! I have known the owner, Mendi, for years, through the industry and as a designer. We started talking a little shortly after I had left Bella Blvd last year, and she invited me along to CHA with her, to help her out in her booth. She officially asked me to join her team about two months ago, and I've been working behind the scenes since.
While I'm not officially designing for her (she has an amazingly talented team of stampers that you should check out on the blog), I'm hoping to play with her stamps and dies from time to time. While I would never claim to be a "stamper", I do want to learn a bit more about it. I'm what you'd call a very "basic" stamper. Meaning when I stamp, I simply stamp. One color, nothing fancy, and I am not really into coloring. At least, not yet ;) Mendi sent me some of her stamps and dies, so I could create a few cards for the announcement on the blog.
I quickly realized that I would be better off focusing on the dies, since die cutting is one of my specialties. For this first card, I knew that I wanted to use the Vintage Jar set (stamp and dies), as I love jars! I used a little flower die (it's actually a freebie with any order), and die cut a ton of flowers from patterned papers. All of my papers on these two cards are from Close To My Heart.
I layered the flowers above the jar, adding stems to some and doubling up the flowers on some as well. I added coordinating enamel dots to the center of each flower. I intended on stamping my sentiment, but decided to use tiny alpha stickers to add my sentiment to the jar.
For my second card, I wanted to use the Family & Friends Word dies. I settled on the word "friends" and die cut a ton of them from white cardstock. I adhered them on a piece of white cardstock, cut slightly smaller than my card base. I then misted the entire piece with some purple, aqua, and pink misting sprays.
I stamped my sentiment on a white office tag, using the Friends & Family stamp set, and added it to the front of my card. I had some flowers left over from the first card, so I added some of those to the card to embellish it.
I'm excited to be working with both Mendi, and Sunny Studio Stamps, and they've all made me feel right at home. I hope you'll stop by the blog and check out the awesome collections of products that Mendi has created (visit her store HERE), as well as the fabulous designs that her design team have been sharing on the blog (visit the blog HERE).
Well I had no idea you weren't a stamper but I have no doubt that you could easily Master it and with your fabulous sense of design you'll be "rocking" the stamping world and making a big "impression" before you know it! :D
