Hey everyone! So, I know I said I'd be back a week ago to share a new layout, but I had a change of plans with that one. So it will have to wait a bit. But I finally got around to finishing up my April spreads in my 2017 Project Life albums this past weekend, so I'll be sharing those this week.
The last time I shared some PL spreads was almost two months ago. I have been super good about finishing up each month by the time the next month is over. So by the time I have another month's worth of photos in hand, my previous month is all complete. But I got off track a bit, since there just seemed to be a lot going on in May.
So, I'm starting off with week fourteen, which was the first week of April. A week that didn't really have that many photos. I like to include a photo or two of the daycare kids each week, since they're such a huge part of my week. But since I was so short on photos for this week, I worked in three pics of them.
And, it wouldn't be the same if there wasn't a photo of a random dog from Sarah. Lol. I haven't paid that much attention to the actual dogs in the photos she sends me, so I'm sure I'm actually seeing the same dogs here and there. I'm still loving using the 3x4" calendar card for each week, with the dates the week covers marked with the little stars.
I'm using the Project 52 Fresh Calendars from Becky Higgins - I'm linking to the digital kit thru her site, but I'm actually using the kit on the Project Life app. I use the app to put two 3x4" photos on a 4x6", and then I send them to myself using Dropbox. To mark the dates, I added a digital star "stamp" to the days of the week. I lowered the opacity, so that you can still read the dates thru the stars. Once I had the markers on there, I sent them back to my phone using Dropbox, and then added them to my photo order.
With one less photo than usual for this week, I worked in one extra filler card. The one above, "life as we know it", is from Simple Stories. My other two filler cards are from Project Life kits.
I'm still turning to some of the same basic supplies when embellishing my cards. Chipboard shapes, enamels, lots of alpha stickers, labels, and washi tape. Lots of older products that I've held onto for years, and am finally using more.
For anyone wondering about my journaling cards, I did a post earlier this year all about them. You can read about my digital journaling process, and find links to all of the designs I've been using HERE.
I'm so glad to finally have April finished up. Especially since I received my photo order with all of my May photos two weeks ago, and worked all of the photos into my album right away. I plan on getting my journaling cards typed up and printed out over the next few days, and then I can start completing the weekly spreads. Excited to get back on track with this album, as it's by far my favorite project these days.
