Hey everyone! I'm back to share the last spread from 2017 Project Life album, for the month of April. This is week seventeen. Alyssa was missing from the first two weeks of April, since I guess she didn't have any photos from those weeks. But she made up for it in week seventeen. Which is good, because I didn't have many photos for that week.
I pulled out this star from Heidi Swapp, that I've had forever. They're not really plastic, but not really a transparency. I'm not sure what they were actually called back in the day. Kind of like a plastic transparency of some sort. Lol. I think they were pure white back then, but they have more of a cream tint to them now. I simply added an enamel dot to the center to cover up the glue dot I used to adhere the star to my 3x4" filler card.
The photos on the second page of the spread really dictated my color scheme for the entire spread. Red and black. It ended up working nicely, since there's Sarah's red car in the photo above, and the cute doggie with lots of black fur.
I was thinking I would need to add in some blue/aqua to tie in this fun photo from Alyssa, but I didn't feel like I needed to once I sat down to work on it.
I thought I was being so clever with my journaling cards for Alyssa's concert photos. Her and her best friend had gone to two concerts in the same week, and had a few photos from each. Since I didn't have that many photos of my own to use, I added in two photos from each concert.
I thought I would google the artists, to find a photo of them that I could add to the journaling cards. I found this square image from Chance the Rapper, and the colors worked well with the photos. For whatever reason, it didn't dawn on me that "Rock, Paper, Scissors Package" wasn't the name of the tour, but a special package you could purchase for the concert itself. Alyssa sort of laughed at me when she saw it. Lol. This is what happens when I'm left to my own devices.
Since I was shorter on photos than usual, I was able to work in an extra filler card. The red card is from Simple Stories, and the black one is from an Amy Tangerine PL kit.
Another month, totally complete and finished. A little later than planned, but it feels good to have a third of the year finished. I've been busy working on some layouts for a few special projects, but I'm trying to work on my journaling cards for May when I can. And I just placed my order for my June photos a few days ago, so they'll be here by the end of the week. Still really loving this project!
love love love how you have pops of red colour all through your spread!!!
